Spring kicks off in just over a month from today. If you are intending to go on a holiday in March, April or May, it is a fantastic time to get your travel tickets and accommodation booked. Can not quite decide where to go?

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is less crowded during the spring than it’s in the summer months when tourists from all over the world flood to explore the natural wonder.

For some serious trekking, visit the North Rim with its rocky trails. The Havasu Falls are also a must-see, touted as one of the Grand Canyon’s most impressive sights.

Grand Canyon Village is a touristy attraction but worth seeing. It’s home to a number of the best viewpoints in the park, among which is the well known Yavapai Point. Some of the best local restaurants and resorts are found in the village.

The entire family will enjoy a ride on the Grand Canyon Railway that takes in most of the most stunning areas of the park.

Washington D.C.

The capital is an exciting city to see in the months of spring when its 3,000 cherry trees burst into bloom, creating a sea of pink. Try to see on time for the National Cherry Blossom Festival, which occurs from late March to mid April annually. During this time people can experience over 200 international performances and see around 90 displays and events.

One of the best places to respect the blossoming trees are the Tidal Bason and National Mall. Bring a picnic and enjoy your lunch at the fresh spring air.

In case of rain, check out a few of Washington’s famous museums such as the Mount Vernon Estate with the tombs of George and Martha Washington, the Newseum which concentrates on the history of the media, the Holocaust Memorial and Museum, and the two Smithsonian Museums. You can never get bored in a town with so many museums!

If traveling with children, you may want to plan your holiday around the White House Easter Egg Roll held on Easter Monday, which is a must-see encounter.

Spring Vacation Suitcase Essentials

The weather is often unpredictable in spring so you’d best pack so. Do not be upset by the occasional shower. Pack a light raincoat which fits in your rucksack. You may also like to visit Travel guide.

Kit out the family in fashionable men’s and women’s rain boots. Some contemporary styles of the traditional boot may be packable due to their flexible plastic design.

As evenings can find a bit on the chilly side, bring some knitwear and a shawl to wrap yourself up in. That way you can absolutely go out stargazing from the Grand Canyon!
